Brookeswood is based just outside Leek, in the Staffordshire moorlands, and we are a friendly family-owned company. We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of premium quality timber windows, doors, and stairs.

We are seeking an experienced Joinery Workshop Manager to help implement planned business growth and improve efficiency in the workshop.

What You’ll do:

  • Planning & scheduling of all production activity, we already have software set up to do this and full training will be given.
  • Liaise with our Projects Manager to ensure full understanding of customer requirements.
  • Liaise with our Installations Manager to plan & schedule installations
  • Review processes and identify and improve workshop efficiencies
  • Manage and support the team with a collaborative approach
  • Identify and implement training where necessary
  • Attend weekly progress meetings and provide timely reports
  • Monitor jobs against timings and ensure delivery targets are met
  • Ensure that the workshop is tidy and well organised
  • Work with management team to ensure H&S requirements are met
  • When necessary, cover for sickness and holidays and be prepared to be hands on if workflow demands it.

What You’ll need:

  • Joinery qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • A supervisory management qualification would be an advantage, the opportunity to work towards this will be provided if not already achieved.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Joinery Workshop Manager, team leader or supervisor.
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • CAD Skills or ability to use Sketch Up would be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to be calm and rational under pressure

Hours of work:             

Monday – Thursday       7.00 – 4.00

Friday                           7.00 – 1.00
